Maguire and Wolsey 2nd Grade Adventures

Highlights: Doing patterns in math. We looked at patterns with our hundreds chart! Aurora's dad came in and did a presentation for us! Ask me what he did!  Writing about how children should feel in school. Ask me what I wrote! Gaga ball in gym! Tying the orange ribbons to the school fence for orange shirt day! Heggerty! Making instruments in makerspace. Ask me what I made!  Aurora's presentation. Ask me what she brought in!  Reminders: No school tomorrow!  Bring headphones with a cord to school if you have a pair. We will be using them to listen to reading on the iPads.   

Highlights: Cup stacking STEM activity. Ask me how my group did! Reading "The Orange Shirt" story Mindful Math. Ask me how many questions I did! Moustache ball in gym  Literacy Centres. Ask me what centre I did today! Our first library day! We can keep the books for 2 weeks. Showing our patterns we made to the class  Reminders: No school on Friday Orange shirt day tomorrow  Library books need to be returned in 2 weeks. If you finish the book earlier then you can go get a new book  If you have headphones that can plug into an Ipad then please bring them :) We will use them for literacy centres.  Look for patterns in your house! :)   

  Highlights: On our community walk, we looked for signs of fall and stopped to sketch a tree Today I tried a new literacy centre - ask me about it! We made different AB patterns in math We read an Indigenous story called "This is How I Know, and we talked about different signs of fall.  We continued to work on our writing and pictures about Orange Shirt Day. Ask me what Orange Shirt Day means.  In music class we listened to Indigenous songs    Reminders: Orange Shirt Day on Thursday  No school on Friday  Blog pictures form online. If you would like to give permission for your child's picture to be posted on the blog, please fill out the online form :)

Highlights: Terry Fox guided drawing - I even learned how to draw the maple leaf on his shirt! Writing a goal for the Terry Fox Run-ask me how many laps I hope to do! Making 10 dice game - I had to figure out how many more I needed to make 10 Reminders: Terry Fox run tomorrow - wear comfortable clothes for running
