Maguire and Wolsey 2nd Grade Adventures

Highlights: In music, Ms. Maguire's class played poison rhythm and beanbag rhythm. Ask me how to explain these games. In art, we drew landscapes just like Ted Harrison. Did you know that he was inspired from living in the Yukon. In writing, we wrote about the Toonik Festival and all the activities they have in Iqaluit. Highlights: In social studies we drew a picture of the Nunavut flag. We also learned about the "Toonik Festival" that takes place in Iqaluit. We wrote different activities that they do at this festival to celebrate the Inuit culture. Ask me about one of the activities!  In math we learned about all the ways we can make 10.   Highlights: In gym we practiced dribbling in basketball by playing a dribble maze game  In writing and social we talked about the Inuit culture and we learned about the clothes they wear in their culture. Ask me what the boots and the coats are called  In social we also researched the weather in Iqaluit. Ask me what the temperature was!  In math we did a math talk, and we learned a new math game.
